Shri Krishna University sets the goal of establishing a world class library by integrating information sources and services across disciplines under one umbrella by building a sound and comprehensive collection of both conventional and electronic resources in all branches of knowledge with robust hi-tech infrastructural facilities and to redesign and revamp the systems and services in efficient, effective and dynamic ways, tailored to meet the myriad informational needs of students, research scholars and faculties of the university manifestly, exhaustively and expeditiously anywhere on campus for 24x7 hours, in view of promoting academic excellence. An enviable collection of nationally and internationally acclaimed books of over 30000 books, 1500 Journals, 6000 Titles and 2500 Bound Journals is shelved at the library of Shri Krishna University.Students are also given book bank facility. Our library acts as the main learning resource center of the university.
It has been providing up to date and nascent information resources and services in both hard and soft forms to the academic and administrative communities being housed in a modern and well-equipped building. Moreover, it has become an indispensible learning resource center for students, researchers and faculties of the university, viz. Engineering, Business Management, Rural management, Biotechnology, law, Paramedical, Pharmacy and Social Sciences departments. Additional to this, the University library has taken subscription of INFLIBNET to enhance the research scholar and students. The collection of library includes books magazines, periodicals, video-audio DVDs, Encyclopedias, Dictionaries and various other formats.
The CCTV cameras are installed to ensure safety of the Library. The Library is also equipped with Fire Alarm Control Panel and manually operated fire extinguishers. Approximately 100 students, teachers and other members visit the library almost every day. Apart from that our University has taken steps to upgrade on the research so it has taken the subscription of Urkund which contains, A system for plagiarism checks, Integration plan, Information material and manuals, On-boarding and training, Complimentary user support, Dedicated product and customer success specialists. For further assistance to research scholars, The Shodhganga Centre provides a platform for research students to deposit their Ph.D. theses and make it available to the entire scholarly community in open access.
The repository has the ability to capture, index, store, disseminate and preserve ETDs submitted by the researchers. Our university is also offering SWAYAM (Study Web of Active Learning by Young and Aspiring Minds) a program initiated by Government of India and designed to achieve access, equity and quality. Shri Krishna University seeks to bridge off the gap of digital gap for students who have remained untouched by the digital revolution. This is done through an indigenously developed IT Platform which facilitates hosting of all the courses, taught in classrooms to be accessed by anyone, anywhere at any time. Moving with the time, SKU has established a well-equipped digital library, which has thousands of books stored in electronic form. Moreover, the digital library has online subscription to over 300 international and national journals, which are accessible to our faculty member and students from any PC within the campus including hostels.Digital library provide a wide variety of reading materials in academic subjects, general knowledge, current affairs and popular interests.
